Land Pride rotary mower blade removal update

OK. After 3 days of having a 20 ton jack/puller on it and heating the blade bracket hub every day with a rosebud, it finally popped loose today. Now I can weld up the dishpan/stump guard, sharpen the blades, and put it back together.

The gear box has both a tapered and splined shaft. Once I clean up the hub and splined shaft with a wire brush, I wonder if there is anything I can put on the shaft to make it easier to get apart the next time? I'm thinking anti-seize or marine grease or whatever you guys suggest. Thanks.

Might be a good time to take the gear box apart, clean everything up, and replace the seals.

That much heat could not have been good for the bottom seal.

Corn head grease, grade 0 or 00 tends to stay in better than oil.
