I have a 1967 Ford Gas Tractor. It is a 3400 industrial with the bucket on it. It is missing the parking break handle mechanism. The one down by the right foot that goes through the foot plate.
if any kind soul has one or knows where to get one please let me know. My property is hilly :D

below is a photo of what use to be there..

All AG tractors of that era use the same lever,, should be plenty in a salvage yard if you have any close from 3000 through 5000 had the same style,,

I live out in the middle of nowhere. No salvage yards for miles. I called a number of yards I found on the web and so far no one has one

Looks like it would be easy to make one out of 3/16 or 1/8 rod. you could use threaded rod drill a hole through a piece of metal or tube and bolt it to the top.

Sure looks like it....you may be able to rig something up that will work. To set
the brake, Pull up and turn to lock, to release the brake, pull up , turn and allow
handle to go down. There should be a spring which bottoms against the underside of
the floor board to provide tension.

thats a big help Ben! I appreciate that. It looks like I'll have to fab up something. Nothing more dangerous than a tractor that wont stop

Looks like the part number is C5NN2824N, FIAT is real proud of the "limited stock" they have, and want $110.

If you GOOGLE the part number quite a few sources come up, looks like there may be some used/salvaged ones out there starting at $30.

Don't call it a brake handle. It is a brake latch handle. There are other
pieces below the foot plate that latch the brake pedal down while you hold the
pedal down and you pull up on the latch. It shouldn't take much farmyard
engineering to come up with a bent rod that will replace the latch handle.
In my experience, it is too low down to reach with any comfort.

Incidentally, there are hand brake systems mounted on the left side of the
tractor which are operated by a brake handle. These are usually found on
industrial tractors, or on European models licensed for use on the road.
This is a disc-type brake that is geared to the pinion shaft with bevel gears.
This gear may be present even though the brake is not mounted to the tractor,
but probably not common. If it is, it would be a simple matter to install the
hand brake system.

The handle I come up with when searching the web is the longer one that attaches to a bracket on the upper part of the bell housing.
Mine is a little short one and rests in the housing down by your foot.
Here is the more common one...

The question I have is: How does it work? I've never seen one like this. Do you pull it up and then turn it to lock into the little bracket that has the two slots? Or can you just pull this up and the teeth catch on the half moon thing and it locks then pull up and it frees? No idea

You might try Rippee's Used Tractor Parts in Farmington,MO. 573-431-5939. They have buildings full of used parts. I have bought stuff from
them in the past and are decent on prices.

Just searched ebay, and the handle below came up.

Only problem with this is the handle is all the way on the floorboard. Don't know about you, but my back doesn't flex enough any more to reach it comfortably....and yes, my belly interferes too. And if it's not easy to reach, you won't use it all the time like you should.

Here's the address to a discussion I started a few years ago when I relocated the handle on a 5000. My pics have disappeared though. If you want more pics, I can get them tomorrow.

OK if you pull up on the handle and do not turn it and step on the brake LH brake pedal it will lock the pedal down,, But it releases when you step down again on the pedal,, if you pull it up and turn it to lock the lever up it will not release the brake pedal until you turn it back and let the lever go down and again step down and it will release the pedal,, hope that makes sense
