I dug this little Wheel Horse out of a junkyard in about 1980 and it was junk, hood had about an inch and a half hole with a wooden handle screw driver attached to the dipstick, had a big old VW steering wheel, smashed hood and fender too. I got it going and used it a few times and then it would die after about twenty minutes so I gave up and it's been laying in the corner of my shed since. Summer of 2017 I tore into it finally, lots of hammer and dolly work, a little welding, some body mud and lots of primer.

Just put decals on it, broke my heart to spend $59 bucks on stickers. Ain't spending another nickel on it.

Sure looks good nice job on it. My frist rider was a cost to cost with it only to have one forward and reverse. Us that thing for years and I think I could of push mowed the lawn faster lol.

Beautiful restoration job. Did you figure out the problem of quitting after a few minutes?

I bought an identical engine for five bucks at an auction. It ran good but smoked terrible so I swapped parts one at a time, the flywheel swap fixed it, must be weak magnets.

Yes, it has a deck and snow blade. It's a rear discharge somebody chopped holes in each side, not very attractive and I don't feel
like rebuilding it.
The blade is in a little better condition and I might spiff that up a little.

The hood was buckled bad on the right side and about the time I thought I had it fixed it would oil can out again. I finally clamped it and laid a bunch of fiber glass cloth in it. The hood is hard to get off and on now too, seems like it's a quarter inch too long. Think the steering wheel stand might be bent a hair.

ain't spending another nickel on itlol, you won't need to spend any money on it for a long long time. I'll bet it runs as good as it looks. Good job!

Looks really great. You should able to enjoy it for many years to come. Are you interested in some accessories for it? I have a few pieces that my niece's husband gave to me several years ago that he had for an old Wheel Horse live yours. There is a sod cutter, a small disk, a spring tooth drag and a snowplow. The snowplow is the only piece that I know is original to the Wheel Horse. I think the other pieces may be homemade, but not sure. If you interested in any of it, you can have it.

BEAUTIFUL! I have the same tractor behind a shed. A 1964 Wheel Horse Lawn Ranger. You've made me want to get it out and gussied up! Where you source the decals and parts?

This is a 1966. The decals came from a place called ( redo your your horse) or Midwest graphics Knoxville Illinois might be the
same place. There's a lot of parts on Ebay or a Toro dealer might be able to find parts. I couldn't find a steering wheel
anywhere that was close so I added the red tape and cut out a decal for the center cap. The aluminum piece on the back of the hood
I cut out to cover the wore out elongated holes holding the hood down.

Front tires came from Ebay, new rear tires from a garage sale along with the front rims/hubs.
That will give you something to do in your spare time.
