I posted this over on the Case forum but I thought I would throw it up here too.
This is my Case JRA 24 2 bottom semi-mounted plow that I have been working on. Made from a JRA 44 (4 bottom 14) plow.
It needs some more work and adjustments but has been coming along steadily.

2 bottom semi-mounts are possible they just need a little forethought. This has been a exciting project.

Did they make a 2 bottom semi mount? Most made a 3 bottom. Kinda neat for the hobby stuff. Nice work.

no, they never made a 2 bottom semi mount from the factory. They offered the MR and MRB fully mounted plows (among others) to fill that role.
I do wonder if they ever looked at the feasibility/economics of offering the J all the way down to a 2 or 3 bottom. Perhaps it never even got looked at for that role.

Two bottom semi mounted reversible ploughs were made over here by a French company, Bonnel, and assembled here in Norfolk. The only plough I have ever used that could plough the straw in behind a 12' cut combine without a straw spreader or chopper. We had a carrot farmer who had a fleet of them.
