Kama TS354C tractor wiring

A bit of an up date on this tractor we hauled in. The guy got a starter for it and got it started by jumping across the starter. To shut it back down he had to stall it. He says the ignition switch does nothing so I get he fun of figuring out the wiring on it

So doe any one know if this is a power type shut down or cable type. Also a wiring diagram would be nice but I'm pretty sure I can figure it out if I know how the shut down system is set up.
Thanks

Before you go digging in to the wiring, look at the injection pump, on it their should be an arm with a wire running back to the area under the dash, left side, that's the shut down. The one on the right is a decompression feature running up to the back of the valve cover, both need to be pushed in for the tractor to run. Along with that the High/Low lever needs to be in neutral for the key switch to work. So you may not have any electrical problems at all.
PS : Don't forget to turn off the key switch after shutting down as the hour meter Will continue to add hours to the hour meter.
At least that's how my early 254 works, so your mileage may vary if it's a much later model.

Just talked to him a bit more and he said there is no power to the switch at all. But who knows if there maybe a missing wire that he did not see. When we got this there was no starter on it so could be a wire he is not seeing or hooking up

On the starter their should be a heavy red wire on the big lug along with the power wire from the battery, that feeds the switch. Then their should be a smaller white wire returning to the solenoid, it runs through the High/Low lever on the transmission, so it needs to be in neutral for the circuit to operate. Those wires run along the right side of the engine with the wires to the alternator.
Hope this helps, if you have a cell phone that receives text I'll send you a picture of my starter connections. Just send me a PM with the number.

Hes told me he has no power at all to the switch. But it sounds like the way he wired it up matches what you have said here. He said there where 2 wires with bug lugs as in battery cable and another and then a small wire going to the solenoid

Their is a fuse panel ( black rectangle box with thumb screw ) lower left of the instrument panel, I think the feed wire is the one on the right side, lower screw. Check both top and bottom screws to see if the fuse is good. If it is good, behind the High/Low lever is the neutral safety switch. With the lever in either high or low, one side should have power when you turn the key. In neutral both sides should be hot and the solenoid at the stater should be energized. Post back the results and I can dig deeper if you need more information..

I'll call him tomorrow. He has tested positive for the virus so he doesn't want me to look at if for at least 10 days so al I can do is talk to him on the phone

A bit of an update. He now has power and able to start it with the key but has no working gauges. He also has figured out the shut down is a cable type. A bit of a back ground on the guy. He owns an appliance repair/reconditioning store so very limited as to what he know about engines etc. He also told me it has some sort of problem with the loader it has on it ad the radiator fan

First off thanks for the update. A bit more on the operation. You can shut the key off after the tractor starts, how ever, that also will not allow the gauges to function, so tell him not to turn the key completely to the off position, except when he is done running it. Then remove it from the switch as the hour meter will continue to run if the key is left in. I do not have a loader on my tractor. The loaders were an add on by the dealers in the US, one thing to check are the bolts on the front axle housings. When they added the loaders, they needed to be upgrade to a harder bolt, that being said, to use the remote cylinder, I have to lock the three point up with the lever on the left rear of the tractor, so he may need to do that for the loader to function ? I'm not sure about the fan problem, maybe the water pump is shot, you will know better when you get a chance to look at it. Hope some of this is helpful .

A little back ground on this guy. He is the type that needs a op manual before he does any thing with a tractor. He at one time had a little Kabota and about the first time he used it he laid it over on its side by filling the loader bucket up with rocks and then driving it around with it as high as it could go and drove on a hill side.

Also he has told me one of the front wheel leans way over when he make a turn with this tractor so who knows what all I will find wrong with it. He got it cheap as a non running machine
