Copy & paste problem?

I notice that for some reason I can no longer copy text and paste it into the forum. I can manually type a message, but if I copy and paste any text into the message, even though it shows when I paste it, it doesn't show when I submit it. That part simply disappears. Doesn't seem to matter where I copy it from. Is it just me or what?

In Modern, there have been times (none recently) that this has happened to me. I believe it has to do with the type font of the text being pasted. I could paste it into Notepad, then copy and paste it from there and it would paste.

Seemed to work for me.

Hmmmm..... I just tried pasting into notepad, then copy and pasting from there to here but again it didnt work. Even when I preview it, the pasted text just disappears.

In the past Ive written things in MS Word and then simply copy/pasted into here with no problem. Its only be the last few weeks that I noticed that no longer worked. Even tried it form home and work with same results.

Weird!

I would try rebooting your computer if you have not already tried. First try to just completely close out your browser and reopen if you have not done that. If restart does not work I would suggest trying a different browser. Do not know your computer knowledge level, reply if you need more clarification.

Once in a rare while copy/paste will get WEIRD on my old laptop running windows 7.

Rebooting the 'puter fixes it.

Probably not what you've got going on, but simple enough to try.

I'm guessing the problem is related to your particular browser. I've never had any problems with copy and paste using Firefox on Linux. There are two independent copy and paste functions on Linux, and both work fine. (You can either use the Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V clipboard method Windows users are familiar with, or you can simply highlight any text then click the middle mouse button anywhere you want to paste.)

If your browser has an option to Paste Unformatted, Paste as Text or something like that, try doing that. I suspect your browser is copying formatting information into the pasted text which is tripping up YT.

Let us know what browser you're using, what operating system platform you're on and which applications you're copying from.

I did get it to work on Classic just now. Swear I tried it there yesterday and it didnt work but maybe Im losing it.

Still wont work on modern however. Tried it on two different computers, one using Windows 7, & the other Windows 10. Tried both Firefox & Chrome on both. Tied copying text from MS Word, Notepad & directly off random websites. This has been going on for a couple weeks now so computers have been rebooted many times. It will copy and paste, but try to preview or submit and the pasted text just vanishes.

OK, I just copied and pasted text from your last post into the reply dialog, using modern view in Linux/Firefox.your

Mine still works if I use the keys: Control C for copy and Control V for paste. Right clicking doesn't seem to work.
