F150 helper springs

Got a 2016 F150.

Anybody use these SumoSprings? How did they work out for you? Got good reviews on Amazon, but thought I'd check here, maybe somebody has had them for a while.

These replace the bump stops. Looks like you can install them 2 ways, with a 3/4 gap between the SumoSpring and the axle (so ride quality empty shouldn't be affected) or with a spacer so they're contacting the axle all the time.

All I know is the suspension could use some help when all the calves decide to go to the front of the stock trailer. Was thinking air springs, but this might do the trick instead.

Thanks

My first thought is that a midgate in the stock trailer to keep the load balanced should be the first investment as it would solve the problem rather than just attempting to deal with it. If a properly balanced trailer is still sagging the suspension too much it is almost always due to not using a weight distributing hitch (if not a gooseneck) or simply having more trailer than the truck is designed for.

Never tried them, but looks like a pricey gamble if they didn't.

Guess I'm too old school, but for about the same price you can add real overload springs.

I'll agree with using the mid gate to balance the load, the trailers got one.

But trying to load calves....get 3 in, close the gate, load the last 3....is a real pain.

Thanks

Seems kinda pricey. My old F150 had a set of heavy front coil springs welded to the U bolt plate. They were cut off about an inch from the rail so they didn't affect the ride. You couldn't load it heavy enough to squat bad enough to effect the steering.

6 calves relocating in trailer from front to rear of trailer & vice-versa while trailer is moving down the road sounds as if an accident is waiting to happen.

I'd ask someone to close middle gate after 1/2 the calves were loaded in lieu adding helper springs to truck rear suspension.

I did a quick search for what I use this is for a chebby.

All in said and done they work and EZ to install.

I put a set of Add-A-Leaf springs on mine. It helped a lot. It also raised the rear 1 inch. It did not take very long. It eliminated a lot of sway in the curves and could tell very little difference in the ride.
