Plan to haul a Power King tractor to
Pass christian MS and bring back a ford
861. May go 75 miles into LA and get
this cub. It has power steering and a
tilt steering wheel. Custom built by a
drag racer with cerebral palsy. Big
front bumper had 2 tires hanging on it
to push drag cars in to the shop. Rigged
up a hitch to move trailers in the back.
It's an odd ball,one if a kind that
shows someone's desire to keep going
against the odds. Wife and I think it's
worth saving and showing off, and
telling the story.

Kevin, Take some good pictures of that steering system.
Gives me some ideas.
What kind of pump does it use?

Richard. Guy told me no pump. Works just like a boats outboard motor steering. Had to look at a neighbor's boat. Very cool idea.
 
By all means it's worth savenig. Mods to make a machine ae lots more interesting than the 'same old same old' 'factory perfect'. Especially where a handicaped person did to make it work for them.A triumph of the human spirit to overcome.

I might know where that is at.
I will not get off work till 8 to 9 am Saturday but I might be willing to give up a few hours sleep to come help you load that cub since it is the weekend.


Boat hydraulic steering does not have a motor driven pump.
The pump power is a valve in the dash that moves hydraulic fluid from one hose to another hose when you turn the wheel.
The hoses hook to a double action cylinder on the motor.
Turning the wheel just moves the fluid from the port side of the double acting cylinder to the starboard side of the cylinder.
