I figure I can get 30 big squares on this rig.

Built this one last summer.

Been using two of these I built off an old slinger frame and plow beams for a few years.

And I bought this one off a sale earlier this month. I bought it because it was cheap. I am gonna cut off that axle and put a semi trailer axle under it. I do not like how the bales drag on the ground when in rough going.

If I get the next one built, I will have six wagons to haul in hay. Now I need more tractors to pull them...

Where's the fun in that? If I am going to help haul hay I want to be throwing small squares.

(quoted from post at 01:34:46 03/15/21) I have a couple of big tractors. I could bring one of them, as long as all I have to do is drive! But I imagine you're too far away.
give directions!

I was a Batt motor Sgt for five years I got pretty good at it. Now I talk to the cows. But they just give me bad looks.

Thats the way to haul hay . I have my own variation on it .
The load of small bales scaled at 26000 gvw
The second load scaled 36000 I didnt get a picture of it on on

Would be easier to just add a piece of tubing under the frame and reuse the current axle. A rear axle will have the hump for the gears in the way. If you were to add an air compressor to the tractor with a tank and valve you could have air brakes that would stop the tractor in it's tracks on the old semi trailer. If that is not at least 40 foot long and they are smaller bales like the 3x3's or 3x4's you will not get 30 on there. I used to haul 4x4x8's some and could not get more than 24 on a 48 foot step deck trailer. 6 on the top deck and 18 on the bottom. 2 were cross ways then 4 long and all 2 high and 2 wide. Then 2 more cross ways on the top deck with 4 length ways in front of those so 2 high and 2 wide Full trailer and would be over weight to haul so would have to take a couple off.

Have seen folks put a small hydraulic cylinder on the brake cam arm and run up to the tractor, run it off a remote lever. Always thought they would be a handy rig to haul hay on.
