Bought a new pump for well

I run these little pumps to pump water for my cows since northern tool sent me a gift card I decided may as well get a spare pump to have on hand . I start pumping water about the end of July depending on the year and lately I dont turn it off until about the first of December when I ship the cows home / the water in the well is never lower than about 7 feet so these pumps have plenty of lift for the job . Harbor freight used to carry these exact pumps for about half the price not sure why they stopped .

How would you prevent that pump from freezing?

Dont shut it off when it gets to be October until December then I take it home . My spring usually holds until July sometimes the end of august then I have to pump
