Well the parts never have showed up that didnt show up with the rest of the stand so I had a machine shop build me an engine ptate . Picked up some square tubing going to extend the rear legs about a foot on each side . Eventually going to order a 3 inch pillow block bearing and replace the junky pipe system it now has .

I never did like a stand like that. When you want to torque a bolt, it moves across the floor. I built my own with removeable 2x4's so the engine can sit solid.

I have several stands that i modified much like yours .But i poured 2 8 inch pipes

in the floor , and built stands on them, they don't wiggle or move around. Have

built some large engines on them.

If I build something, I head to the iron pile, and usually find what I need. I start building If I don't think its going in the right direction. I start over, or make it right. Stan

Yip modify it until it works like you want and it if it still doesnt cut it apart and try again

So northern tool emailed me back with a piddly offer of a 27$ rebate . I guess thats better than a poke in the A** but not much after almost 3 months

So what is going on with the torpedo heater with the cover off? I just went through two of them for a total of 197,000 btu plus another 100K with propane. Now it has warmed up and don't need them. Replaced filters, a rotor, transformer, a nozzle and adapter. Be warm next year though.

I think it just needs cleaned the fuel tank . It runs a
minute and shuts off mr little one did the same thing
it had rusty fuel in it I took it all apart cleaned it out
and it runs good now

Its actually the right height and I can sit on it 12
hours a day and not be sore when its on a horse
anyway

Its ready almost for the trial run . Dont know who to send the thank you card and cookies too but someone on here suggested using antifreeze for cutting fluid and boy does it work . An old guy I worked with at new holland taught me how to make a centered hole with a bit the size of the hole sure more accurate than a center punch

Ive seen guys hang big diesels off these stands with no modifications and it is pretty sketchy I have no plans of rolling a fully assembled engine over on this stand and I cant see any reason you would need to either
