First ever new tractor

Sometimes at an old age you just decide you want something and gosh darn it your going to get it. Never in my life have I owned a new lawn tractor. We always got by with used and kept them fixed up. My 1998 G1900 Kubota developed a drive line rattle. Went to the dealer to get a parts estimate and walked around the showroom,, big mistake, LOL.
Pictured are the parts I purchased to fix the driveline problems a BX23 LOL
Amazes me how fast and easily the loader and backhoe detaches. Loader detaches from the seat in less one minute. Back hoe about 2 minutes, have to get off the seat to do that. Mower deck, 2 minutes.

I haven't been able to reward myself in that way yet. But someday I will. Although, I have bought two new JD riding yard mowers. Nothing big or fancy .

My father, having taken over a multi generational farm, bought most things new. He and I bought a new farm tractor together in the early 80's. It was wrong on several counts, but we survived it. That was my first and last involvement with a new tractor. I know what you mean by aging, as I recently bought my first, and last, new pickup! Enjoy the Kubota!

You'll be able to knock out a lot of yard work with that. Seat looks super-comfortable, wonder if it's the same they use in the big tractors? Congrats on the new Kubota.

I bet the driveline rattle was the two non-greasable u-joints on the shaft to the hydro. They like to freeze up.

Congrats on your new toy!

Nice one, Butch. I got tired of adding oil and air every time I used my old White lawn tractor. So I treated myself to a new Huqvarna 24 hp in '18. Wish I had a small hoe to save my "back."

Nice, but according to that sign, you better park it elsewhere!

As handy as a Swiss Army Knife on wheels.

What "fun" is a new tractor? There's no getting to know it intimately by taking it apart, no satisfaction of finally figuring out what's wrong, while laying in bed late at night. Missing the aroma of freshly leaked oil on hot surfaces, and the stains on clothing, saying I've been hard at it today. And, if you really have had a good time, black grease on your face when you had to address that itch that wouldn't go away. LOL. Enjoy!

Congratulations, looks like fun. I didnt want to take a chance on not getting old, and not ever having a new tractor. Bought my first new tractor in 1984, I was 23, and maybe too young to know any better. I am sure that you are going to have many hours of enjoyment with that rig.

Oooohhh, nice!! I'm green eyed with envy, no, not really. Hope it serves you well for a long time. 4WD??, saw the rough tread front tires.

Is it a diesel and if so does it have DEF being a small tractor.I cant tell on my phone from the picture
