Man!! White marble gravel sure brightened up the barn! Wonder if painting the ceiling and walls white would help even more? Or would it just look dirty real quick? Wood stove in there and running tractors sometimes.....

It won't hurt. Use the cheapest white primer you can find and call it good. There's a white shellac primer that would give you a washable surface, "Binzz" maybe?, but thats more moola.

Yes.........painting the inside white or light color will make it much easier to light, and the available light will reflect off the walls, and not be absorbed into it. You will probably have to prime it for the top coat not to semi-absorb into the wood and look crappy. You will appreciate it.

An airless sprayer will make short work of it. If there is a Habitat for Humanity store near by, they generally have all sorts of "used paint". Many place take donated paint into back rooms, and blend similar colors into 1 & 5 gallon buckets and sell it pretty cheap. You won't get white, but you should be able to pick out some form of lighter color.

Kevin, your wife brightens up that barn by just being there.
I painted my interior shop walls with with the cheapest white paint I could find.
It does brighten the place up quite a bit.

It will takes a long time for it to look dingy. Like the guys said the cheapest latex you can find will do a good job.

During a slow time at work (2008), we paint the brown beams a lighter color and it helped brighten the place up. In 10 years of manufacturing, the beams still stayed clean.

I like what you did with that SS or aluminum pan you brought home last month.
Does it now have a drain in it and hinged to the wall??

Good repurposing job, did it come from a morgue???

Kevin after putting plywood on the ceiling and walls on my old bosses shop we painted it all white. It was the Tractor supply barn and fence paint. We did not paint the floor. Heats with a small wood stove building is 30x30.
