Sealed LED bulb replacing sealed halogen bulb

I see many sealed LED bulbs that can directly replace the factory original sealed halogen bulbs. This allows the original metal fixture to be reused reducing the cost of converting to LED by about half. I don't know how many lumens a sealed halogen bulb is but I do know that the LED direct replacement is 2200 lumens. I would think that this would be at least 2 times the lumens of the original halogen. Has anyone pulled the halogens out and installed the LED sealed bulb? Were you happy? The specific tractor I am wanting to change to LED's is a John Deere 4440. I would put the sealed LED light bulbs in the two fenders and in the four rear lights. Thanks.

I am also looking forward to the comments here. I replaced the back up lights on my wife's Suburban with LED bulbs, and I was so disappointed that I returned the bulbs. There was no difference at all.
I also replaced the headlight bulbs in my little JD 850 with LED bulbs just to see how well it would work, and I think it is actually worse. In all fairness, they were cheap bulbs and even though they fit the socket and have the same base, they were probably not designed to give top performance in this application.

I would expect that sealed beam replacements won't have this problem, but I'm a little reluctant to spend the money to experiment on my bigger tractors.

I replaced the original bulbs in my G JD with LED bulbs and I changed the reflectors also. They worked great and really light things up. I would recommend them.

The fender mounted lights on my Ford 8000 were original (two per fender) and I replaced them with LED. I popped the old one out of the rubber housing and pushed in the new one. I just have a 22 amp generator on that tractor so I wanted to reduce the load from the lights. I am very pleased with their output. I intend to mount a LED light bar on the roll bar for a rear work light. The conversion worked out well for me.

Not quite tractor related. but I had trouble with running lights on my Tahoe burning out frequently. They used a two filament tail/brake light bulb. Works OK for that application, but in continuous duty, they just don't last. Got a pair of LED replacements. Direct plug in. Brighter - much whiter. So far no failures. Installation is not really easy, so that is fine with me.

If you choose the right bulb the LED's will blow away incandescent or even HID. They are superior in watts/lumens and power consumption. Most LED headlamps have a higher color temp, giving you a crisp white light instead of dull yellow.

I have installed dozens of the 2200 lumen LED bulbs over the years for customers. They are way brighter than whatever they are replacing and after switching one tractor, you will want to switch your other tractors also. They make a literally night and day difference in your vision due to color in addition to lumens.
