Well, the book work anyway. I have an accountant that does the actual taxes. I have the bad habit of just putting all the receipts in an envelope for the year then putting off going through them til the last minute. This is actually early for me, but I got off work early and it's too cold to work outside. Was pleasantly surprised to find I didn't lose as much as expected. If I hadn't bought any equipment I would have about broke even. But then most of the livestock I fed all year is being sold this month. Going to have to be careful this year or I might make money. Hate for that to happen. Lol
 
I keep my records on MS Spreadsheet going back 23 years. I usually have over 700 lines receipts and income that at the end of the year I have to sort by date and by address, Then tabulate before taking then to CPA.
 
So far they haven't. But I think they are working at it. Income, state and fed, sales tax, property tax, title transfer fee(vehicle sales tax) . They get a pretty good chunck and plan on more... gobble
 
I filed my taxes a couple weeks ago. I do computer entries all year, and at the end of the year I do a print out, and take it to the Accountant. Everything is done online now.
 
Just send everything you make to the government and they will gladly supply all of your needs.

How much of your taxes go to this type of waste.
 
On the form it says you can only report a loss for three consecutive years. So every once in a while you have to cook the books so you break even or even make a little apparently.
 
Gee and here I am stuck with a 1500.00$ bill

any political views on my posts. I feel like breaking the rules
like that is incredibly disrespectful to those running the site
and could result in all of us losing access.
 
I hear ya Jon ....... BUT you must admit that there are a large number of topics that are inviting political replies. Taxes would be one of them. Happens all the time.
 
let the moderators do their job Jon. You can't control replies. We have other members that try and it doesn't work
