what were you doing on 911

Believe it or not I WAS ACTUALLY RIGHT HERE ON THIS WEBSITE when someone posted turn on the TV Airplanes are falling out of the sky !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's my recollection no warranty Ive slept since then lol

At work, met coworker in hallway he said plane hit WTC, it was about 1 hr before we got the full details.
Our tenant opened up the main conference room and put the newsreel on the big screen.
Still working at same site.
 
I was at work. Our office had a tv for automatic transmission repair training films. We rigged some wires for an antenna and were able to watch when the 2nd plane hit. We stayed glued to that crude setup until past normal time to go home.
 
Driving bus got relieved and the guy taking over told me about a plane hitting the first tower went down in the basement of the state building and seen the second tower getting hit
 
2nd day of Annual Training for the Ohio Air National Guard.

Got volunteered to stay and do security detail for the next 3 weeks.
 
I had worked Third shift at the local factory. was pulling in to the village water plant to haul water to the cattle. about that time the local radio personality casually mentioned there were unverified reports of a plane hitting the World trade center. I had seen newsreel footage of a plane hitting the Empire State building , and I thought of that, but also thought, "that just don't happen."
 

The chevy dealer was delivering a new shot block for a 86 IROC Camaro the driver told me about it. At that time business was great I was covered up in work times were good. Then the bottom fell out it was not a good year nor the next year.
 
Working at Quality Spring, I was QC manager then(worst job I ever had)and we had a TV in the lab to watch for weather warnings. I was so busy it took awhile before I realized what had happened.
 
I was sitting in a recliner chair in the hospital getting my Chemo treatment and watching TV. Couldn't believe what I was seeing and at the time was pretty sick also.
 
I was mowing a field of second cutting hay in the adjacent county to where the plane was shot down in Sykesville, Pa. Ironically, a farmer from that Somerset community was to come that evening to pick up a New Holland silage blower that I sold him. Quite obviously he didn't show.
 
I was still railroading. I was working at the roundhouse.
I came in and the boss told us what happened. He was known to be a joker,
so I asked who was flying, Princess Di???
Then he showed us the computer moniters.
As we were standing there watching, we watched the second plane
hit the other tower in real time.
What did we do??? We just kept on working until time to go home.
When I came to work the next morning at 7 AM, there was a supervisor
there to be sure we really belonged there.
 
I was teaching a class for a fleet at Metairie LA. The shop building was next to the New Orleans airport. I always had to talk over the noise of the planes taking off. They shut down the airport and we could hear the birds.
 
Stepped out the back door of my business and saw this vapor tail left by a plane making a complete U. Didn't know what happened tell a hour later.
 
I was working in an electric motor shop in town at that time. Was working on a vacuum pump unit for a local egg processor when the news came over the shop radio. We had heard a larger plane go over but didn't pay much attention as local airport only few miles away, not that unusual but did sound a little big for going to the airport. When I got home from work Dad had seen the plane, thought it was way too big and low as well. Turned out to be the plane that went down in Somerset county, flight 93. Not all that far away where it went in at, less than an hour by car, probably only minutes in a plane. Also our county 911 center got most of the calls that came from passengers I'm told.
 
I just brought a train in to Twin Cities from Fargo. When we got into the crew haulers van got the news and the second plane just hit the tower.
 
Was at work, tool crib had radio on, got the news on a trip to the tool crib. Then listened to the radio at lunch in my truck.
 
was at work designing a bridge---got immediately called into an emergency management meeting for Suffolk County NY infrastructure response plan
 

Is there a reason 9/11 is coming up now? I was working as a NYS Trooper dealing with an enormous crazy guy that had just tried to kill his father. Was enroute to NYC by 1PM.
 
I was just leaving the house, heading to the field to cut/harvest tobacco. Wife called from her work to tell about the first one so I turned on the TV in time to see the second one. Then learned about the pentagon hit. Watched for a while, then went on to the field.

have no recollection as to what I was doing.
 
I was at work at the papermill, but our son was only a few blocks away from ground zero, my wife was worried sick. he had to stay in the basement of the building he was in, and later walk across the Brooklyn bridge to get home. Not something he will ever forget!
