Almost shot my eye out

I was going over the procedure with my son on how to hook up and use a vacuum pump on his car AC. I did a dry run yesterday by myself, and there is a cap on the exhaust with a big warning to remove before use. I told myself yesterday to remember that today, well I did not. I was standing over the pump while he hooked everything up and the cap shot off and just missed me.

That is now on our checklist.

I hooked up my pump and forgot to bleed the nitrogen off the system first and got a bath of vacuum pump oil.
