When checking transmission fluid level on my mf65, should the tranny be hot?

Hot or cold, does not matter. Holds about eight gallons total. Early models took awhile for oil at trans fill point to reach the diff case area where the dipstick is on right side. 1/2-1 gallon over full won't hurt if tractor has a loader.

Tranny fluid coming out of the hole under tranny so took out about 2 1/2 quarts cause the dipstick was right on full Mark. Now it's half way on dipstick, so we will see if still leaks. Thanks Dieseltech.

It makes no difference. How would you get it hot other than having it in a heated garage and using it. The total volume would be affected some, but if overfilled by a quart it would make little change as summer draws into our vision. Jim
