If you couldn't find the clutch and were headed for a wall look out, she'd climb right up and over backwards!

I knew a guy that had a fairly long rural mail route. It required him to cross the Missouri in
NE Montana twice a day. If he took the road it was an extra 50 miles to a bridge but the town was only a
mile or three accross the river from his house. He often used a motor boat weather and water permitting
to cross the river and save the 50 miles.
In the winter he crossed on the ice when it was thick enough.
SO>>> He got one of those Harris Power Horses. He made a "tub" for the frame to sit in, rigged a
propeller of some sort on the PTO and mounted 50 gal. barrels with paddels attached in the wheels.
I understand it worked pretty good, but as someone mentioned, he got the poop scared out of him when
it tried to flip backwards over as he came up out of the river. I understand he never used it
very often after that. The machine was actually featured in a late '50's Popular Mechanics issure.
