Looking for dimensions of a Waukesha engine

I'm working on a model of a Gehl self-propelled forage harvester. It uses a 6 cylinder Waukesha gas engine. I don't know which specific engine, but the ones used in Oliver tractors should be very close.

I need some rough dimensions. Length and width of cylinder head and height from oil pan flange to top of valve cover would give me something to go on to get the overall size somewhere near right. Any other dimensions/pictures you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any of this information you'd be willing share, you can post it to this thread or email me directly at pfoxyATyahooDOTcom.

I'm going to cross-post this here, on Tractor Talk and the Implement boards to get the best coverage.

Thanks for any help!

The engine is a Waukesha 135 GZU. Don't think Oliver made a tractor big enough to squeeze one of those in. I'll try to get out today & get some measurements for you. Currently have two nurses here for mom & my aunt & one of her friends are supposed to be here this afternoon. Hope to squeeze it in at some point as tomorrow it's supposed to snow & there's single digits in the forecast for the near foreseeable future. I'll leave a few pics & a link to a site that has a few of the Wauk. power units on hand. Those are the same as what's on the chopper. What's pictured in the manual (below) is a bit different. The manifold isn't the right one, the oil fill tube is on the wrong side, the fuel pump & pre screener w/primer lever are different & the left side view shows the downdraft carb above the manifold next to the breather. The oil pan also doesn't have the deep sump either, though I don't know if you'll be modelling that on your project or not.

After trying to post pics here & they turned out all cattywampus..... even though I had the camera right & the pics on my computer are right.... I'll email 'em to you.

Power Zone....

Fawteen. 77engine measures on the engine mounts are 13x28.5. Top of block measures 6.75x29. Block is 2ft 0n heighth. Hope this helps. RB

Thanks, Mike. I couldn't remember your screen name.

I though it was the 135, I've done a little preliminary surfing looking for dimensions. Plenty of pictures to work from.

I was going to direct you to the German Bliss website, but they took the Gehl manuals pdf link page down. I instant chatted.... or whatever it's called.... to whoever undertakes that task there. He was able to link me to a pdf of the file which I included below. If you or anyone else needs a Gehl manual in pdf format, contact them.

Hope it works.

Heres hopin....

Where are you located? I may be interested, but wouldn't be able to do anything for a couple months yet. Due to the fact my mother is currently in home hospice care. If you need it gone now or Fawteen is interested, by all means....

I got some dimensions and pictures on another site. Does this look reasonable for the model?

The starter & manifold are reversed in your sketchup. They should be on the oil filter side & that should be where the aforementioned are. Otherwise,
it's coming along good. Say, what's the thing just to the left of the filter can?

That's the distributor.

I thought it might be mirrored, the engine I worked from is different than the one in the picture of the Gehl.

Easy enough to mirror-image it tho.

Updated to more closely resemble a 135GZU based on the pictures and measurements you gave me. Thanks!

(I know the distributor should be on the other side of the oil filter, but it was one of the first additions and it would require major deconstruction to move.)

That looks great!! The distributor is fine, not too many people out there would know the difference. The only think to be done yet is widen the valve
cover. Unless that's a pain in the butt. If so, no worries. As stated before, it is tucked up under the hood.
