Where to find John Deere 246

I'm looking for a john deere 246 2 row
corn planter for my 1950 John Deere A
im restoring the A for a 4-h project
and wanted something else to go along
with it im located in Northern
Colorado. So if you know of one In
Western Nebraska Southern Wyoming, or
Colorado please let me know.

I take it you are from the Greely area? that is/was a huge corn, beet, bean and other crop area. A bit south they grow onions and other veggies. There should be thousands of 70/71 planters around.Dont know if Vincent Equipment is still at Ft Lupton. They would have something. Or as said, run down to Muths at Rocky Ford. They will definitely have something for you. It would also be a fun road trip.I was raised around FtCollins/wellington so I am quite familiar with the area. Ran around the area, from The Nunn down to Platteville.Went to 'hundreds' of sales in the 80s in the area.

Sadly Vincents closed down in the late 90s but the building is still there. I actually in Ft.lupton and I know of a few #70 units but aren't for sale. I'm really looking for one because after my great Grandpa bought the in 1950 he bought a 246 in '65 to go along with it. Its funny how far we've grown from a 2 row planter to a newer 12 row.
