Front tire recommendations for 2wd with loader?

I have a Massey Ferguson 240 that Ive restored and looking to replace the front tires. It has 7.60-15s on the front at the moment and was just curious if this is a good tire to go back with?

I will be doing a good verity of stuff with this tractor mowing with a finish mower, bush hogging, disking, grading driveways plus loader work. Ill add some pictures of what the tires on the tractor currently look like.

I suppose you want it to look nice with a tractor tire on it.

Often a used pickup tire is wider and handles the stress of old pasture prickles better?

Lot of folk have gone to a 4 rib front tire, they are wider and support more weight. Also handle hard surfaces better.

The 3 rib s the classic tractor look, and turns in mud better.

You need to be mindful of the clearance your rim dish allows for a wider tire......

Ive looked into the 4 rib front tires they seem like a good all around tire. Would it be best to order them online? And just stay with the 7.6 width like I have now?

(quoted from post at 21:11:16 01/31/21) Have to make sure you have room between the tire and the spindle so they don't rub. Can't go too wide or will rub the spindle.

This is the kinda room I have with a 7.6 tire I think Id be ok going with a 9.5 not 100% sure though

Vince thats a pretty tractor right there. SV is right. Get as wide as you can. The classic 3 rib will sink into mud and soft dirt in a hurry. The JD 400 I just got has truck tires on it. Ten ply 235 x 16. Firestone Transforce. Same brand as on my dually.

If you're going to be loading in mud all the time the tall skinny tire will work better as it will roll easier and cut through the mud better. If you working on hard surface more of the time then the wider tire will carry more weight. I like the 16 inch pickup tires for the weight carrying capacity and getting around. Yup they will slide sometimes on slippery ground and so will your ribbed tires. We've been using truck tires for 30 years or more. Use them on most of the front tractor tires.

You've got them dished out, a little harder on the spindles that way.

If you turn them inwards, the 7.6-15 is about as good as you can get. I run a 240 with 6.50-16 on the front and they are too small (no loader) I had a 7.50-16 on a rim and it would just fit and clear. I tried an 11L-15 and the rim had to be dished out.

I have an idea you will not be doing any heavy duty day after day loader work so your 7:60x15's will be just fine. You might want to go with an 8 ply just for good measure. I can't see why you will want to spend more money for different rims and larger tires you do not need.
