Dagenham built Fordson Model "N" from around 1940, on Roadless tracks with an Auto-
Mower winch. These were used by the Royal Air Force, on airfields, for recovery of
aircraft and towing.

Hi Majorman and I hope you are well. The Ducksbury family here in Nottinghamshire
was collecting Fordson N tractors from the mid 1960s and Eric the farther was the
instigator of the FORDSON 500 show in 1996. In the late 1960s he bought a Roadless N
with a front winch like the one in the picture and the family still show it. It was
an ex Royal Navy tractor and carried the regestration number 80RN69 so you may have
seen it on your visits to rallies. MJ

It looks like that winch also has a
capstan on the side. Is there a way to put
the winch in neutral while keeping the
capstan engaged?
