Trencher is done!

Been a few days but I got the trencher done.
Here's the new spider gears.

They did such a job packing the new axle I had to cut the foam off.

They made the axle to fit many different widths by making the spines long.

I managed to get the unit in without a case spreader. Ready for the cover!

While I had it in the shop I had to redo the ignition switch, new gauges, and new shaft seals on the injector pump. I hope that fixes the fuel in the oil problem I don't see how else it gets there. No lift pump. Could be a leaky return line under the valve cover but I ran it with the cover off. No signs of a leak

If this doesn't do it I'll take it back for more attention. Other than smoke it runs perfect. They did the shaft seals right in front of me and for parts only. No labor. Couldn't beat that.

My 3020 wiped out the shaft seals so they dug into the whole thing. Looked like a good thing they did. The weight pins were worn terrible and the damper ring was nonexistent.

OHHHhh an spider gear repair pkg. , yup done many on mine and my buddy's 73 and 75 Ford F 250 4X4's Danna 44 H D 's ate them puppy's like M & M's . Kept three on the shelf all the time . Every ford dealer with in 75 miles knew we had them and when i a bind and needed one believe it or not they would call and buy it off us to get someone going . First one i took out was during a snow storm and slid off a farmers lane while getting it open for him so he could get his semi in . seams a 428 super Cobra jet with a built C 6 folat on the fllor and a shift to second was a wee bit tomuch . My buddy took his first one out pulling on the township grader when it went off the road and down and embankment , his truck was powered by one of my Barn yard 390's at around 375 Hp. Cost on the pkg. back in the GOOD OLD DAYS was 27.85my cost from Ford. Basically chump change and around four hours out and back in and never take the snow plow off . After what i went thru on finding the first one i vowed that that was never going to happen again and put the order in for three where i bought my Ford parts . Day i ordered them Bobby was laughing at me sayen that ya know you will never need one again . Welp he was wrong About a week later my buddy took his out and while we were doing Mikey's guess who calls , Bobby as they have a 74 in the shop with blowen spiders and wants to see if i would sell him one back and asked what i wanted for it . I told him to send his runner down and get it and to place and order for two on a unit down and i will pay him for the one and he just has to replace what he got with me . It hepls if you have the Spreader BUT you can do this with out ya just need a Bigger pry bar. If you are usen the same bearings no set up is necessary just keep the bearing cups on the same side .

That's what I did. All the same but the spiders. Got the unit up in the the front half of the cups started. A prybar against the case and back half of the cup and work it in.
