Got a magneto in the mail today. $50
including shipping. Put it on the
slightly burnt cub and hooked up plug
wires. It runs !!!! We doing the happy
dance. Fellow called this morning about
a belly mower I have for sale. Said his mower
had an issue with the clutch and wanted
to put mine on his cub then sell the
tractor. I asked how much? Way, way too
cheap to not go get. Road trip on
Thursday. 3 hours south. Mower still for
sale.....

Go down the forums list on the left side of the page to Kountry Life. I looked at it this morning and in the for sale ads, someone had a cub operator's manual, service manual and another cub book for $45, I thought about you when I saw it.

You need that Cat 950 I have. I have used it to drive 8 foot long treated 4X4 int the ground. Wife would hold the 4X4 till I got the bucket set on it an then she would walk behind the machine. Push down with the bucket and I could have pushed the whole 8 foot into the ground but stopped at 4 foot. I always made her get behind the machine because if the post hit a rock the post could/would explode and yes I had a few do just that

Grandpa Love, it may be time for your friends to have an intervention. What started out as a little Cub fetish is moving way beyond what is healthy. One Cub, maybe two Cubs is considered normal by the tractor health professionals. Beyond that, and adding attachments puts you in the danger zone.

I on the other hand am considered normal because I have 8 antique generators, which is below the 10 generator limit prescribed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.

The tractor looks good in the pictures. Another good deal comes your way. I wonder what the seller means by the mower having a bad clutch as that mower has no clutch. Just runs off pto. Maybe a bad spindle? Or maybe tractor needs a clutch. I am sure you can get it back to working either way. Good luck .

He said the mower has a clutch in the spindle similar to an over run coupler on a pto. When you clutch the tractor the mower will keep pushing you forward. Said it didn't used to.
