Good Question, but I think they had the engine, and the cab mounted on the front part....

OOPs, I did not notice that there are 2 engines on it.....I now have no idea......

It appears to have a blade on the right side of the picture so presumably the blade is on the front.

Scrapers can be operated in clay that takes multiple engines to move it (our lake was created to make fill for I-94 across Indiana. filling a 60 foot deep swamp). The Euclid
Scrapers were 2 engine, and they used 2 D-9 pushers to keep pace. 25 feet deep, of pure yellow clay. As the grousers on the tracks flipped out rectangular solid chunks from

I remember that was how they did it when they built I 275, except they used 2 D8s pushing the pan. They even used 2 pushers in the rock they blew up. Mark.
