Is it just me or is this a ridiculous price for this truck?

That truck to me isn’t worth that much $$. If the tank is something special that I don’t see, please point it out, because the truck itself is not worth more than a couple grand. Just looks like a Stainless Steel water tank to me. Still plenty of old milk truck tanks around.

Well with the number of wildfires Cali has had it might bring that price. Remember there is always 2 fools, the fool that asks that price and the fool who will pay that price.

anyone else see the remanants of a simplot emblem on the back of the tank??? Old fertilizer tank by chance??

Carb complaint or not that truck is plum dangerous, 2500 gallon tank on a single axle is to much, thats 20,000 lbs of water plus the weight of the tank, fire pump, plumbing and tool boxes full of firefighting equipment. the position of the rear axle puts the front to rear weight ratio at 55/45 or at best 60/40 so a much as 95% of the weight is setting on the rear axle, that thing is going to woller around on the road like a beached whale.
If that is a old fertilizer tank it won't have the extra anti slosh baffles that's required for fire service.
I wouldn't let that thing near our fire dept
We have a L8000 with 8.3 Cummins, 2000 gallon tank , 250 gpm fire pump between the tank and cab, rear axle is near the rear giving weight ratio of 80/20, with 14k front suspension full of water it drives like a car, it was propose build by a fire apparatus mfg.
We only gave $20k for it 6 years ago with 24k miles

"several fire outputs on engineered manifold"

That right there is the funniest part.

I would be embarrassed to admit that I "engineered" a water manifold like that.
i wonder where they found the square pipe? That is virtually unobtainium.

I've seen them before, go to a local steel supplier and get a piece of 6x6, 8x8 or 10x10 square tubing then cap the ends, cut out holes and weld in whatever fittings you what

It says the ad was updated 24 months ago,it's only for sale if you have money to burn.

Also, most likely not a 460 engine. Probably a truck 370 or 429, they appear similar. 460 was not originally installed in a truck that size. Kind of like people list Chevy C60 trucks as having a 454, but they actually have a tall deck truck 366 or 427.

I looked at the ad and unless it has been changed since you looked at it the ad says it is a 1997 F700 with 37 000 miles on it.

Maybe priced a little high but not too far off.

Besides everything else that's wrong it's not a 97 model either, 94 was the last year they used that hood design, 95/98 models had a more rounded hood design

Sarcasm as in
No such thing as square PIPE.

Square tubing yes, but it is not pipe.
