6V system; checking voltage while running and my meter jumps all over the place and cannot get a Voltage reading..... I dont remember it doing this before...I have two good meters and both do the same. Positive ground 6V system....why?

You must be using a digital meter.

The electrical "noise" from the ignition and charging systems often freaks them out.

The answer is a $$$ digital meter or a simple analog meter.

(quoted from post at 22:02:24 01/23/21) Buy a good used Simpson 260. You will be happy.

I had a Simpson 260 brand new in the box, complete with the leather case. Traded it off to a guy for a brake job when I had no place to work on a truck. Boy, was that a dumb move!
