Larry King has passed away at age 87. I never really watched his show but he was very popular with a lot of people.
 
I just saw that on TV news. I've heard and read stories about him but never watched him ever, not sure why or why not. The news today said he had 7 wives, not many can say that even nowadays.
 
I never cared for him. He always tried to sensationalize things too much.

I remember in the late 1980's an engine blew on a passenger airliner, destroying some controls. The airplane subsequently made a controlled crash landing at the Sioux City, Iowa airport. Some lives were lost but many survived.

King interviewed a lot of the survivors for his TV show. He asked everyone if there had been a lot of screaming and panic on the airplane before the crash, and then appeared openly disappointed when none of the survivors would admit to any.
 
One of my high school classmates had five husbands over the years. They all died.

I think I would have had serious thoughts before becoming number 6. I don't recall that there was a number 6.
 
I have a friend who was on that flight. She stepped out of her seat onto the runway. Unscathed. She was in the first row of the intact seats. Woof. Jim
 
The widow Johnson down the road had taken 6 husbands in her life and had outlived them all. she finally passed at the age of 92. at the viewing, the local preacher was overheard to say "together at last, together at last!" while passing the casket. One of my neighbors overheard this and asked "Preacher, which one of her husbands are you referring to?" The preacher looked slightly puzzled and said "Husbands? No, I'm talking about her legs".
 

I suppose some of his wives were hoping to be the wife when he died so they can claim the inheritance.
 
We have a woman in a small town here in Central Siberia who has had six husbands. Everyone is sure she killed all six of them but nothing has ever been done about it. Why, Why would anyone want to be another one of her husbands?
 
Plane had limited turning ability in only one direction. Aberdeen, SD was the intended emergency landing site and all emergency services were alerted included my Fire Dept but Sioux City was then chosen because of the turning problem.
