png, ogg, mp4, avi, mov, jpg, gif QUESTIONS

When I try to post an image here on the YT forum, photos from my camera work fine (jpg Files) but other files often fail. This website tells me that unless the files end with png, ogg, mp4, avi, mov, jpg, or gif they cannot be uploaded/downloaded or whatever term they use to tell me that it won't work. If I have an image stored in a configuration that does not work, how do I change it to one of the acceptable ones? Thanks for the help ..

Is the configuration on say a lap top or PC? You could scan it, print a copy, then scan or take a photo with a smart phone. Then the image would be in your photo library, and you could post to YT from there. I think you should be able to copy and paste some thing from a file to a photo library as well

The way I do it is by opening it in "paint" and then saving it as a jpg file. Works with most of them.
Go to where the file is, right click on it and a box will drop down, choose "open with," pick the "paint" option. When it opens go to upper left corner of screen and click file, when that appears save it as a jpg. file. gm

There are a number of programs that will convert images from one format to another. The one I use is called "convert" and it is part of a set of command-line tools called ImageMagick. Not only does it convert from one image format to another, it will resize images, which is real useful when you have a huge image file that you want to shrink down to a reasonable size.
