This was given to me and I was told it was to start small
airplanes. This makes sense since it has wings printed on it.I
wonder if you could use it to start a tractor if you made a
crank adapter

The user had better know which way to grab on to it when he hits the trigger. I can see it being a good way to start an engine thats less than 200 cubes.

I built this tractor over 40 yrs ago, the engine on it was used to start military jet planes! Engine was connected to large starter-generator for charging and helping the group batteries start the jet.

It is military VH4D Wisconsin had no regular starter and had to use a different fly wheel and a VF4D starter. Has 4 to 1 clutch reduction also off of the VFD, runs in oil and Chevy 1 ton rear and tranny, 4x4 Chev steering gear and a 22 GPM front pump. Will pick up more than the Deer beside it.

As I recall, a Slick (Uh-1h) helicopter and probably most aircraft had a 67 hp turbine as a starter motor for the main turbine engine. That is the first high pitched whine you hear before main engine start.

OFTEN USED ON PT-17 STEARMAN SIZE PLANES, 220 CONTINENTAL/R-670 CU. IN...LYCOMING, JACOBS...BE BLESSED, GRATEFUL. PREPARED...>USED INSTEAD OF HEAVY INERTIA STARTER...
