Harvest king tires

A bought a set this fall, 14.9x28, haven't used them much bought seem ok. Both dealers I talked to said they'd be good for the hay work this tractor mainly does.

I put a set on a 2520 2 years ago for a collector. Been thinking about a set for the one 4020 that gets light use. I like the tread pattern but I think they are made in China which I do not like. Tom

I had some on a little tractor, as well as Akuret. The one I would absolutely avoid is sadly made in the USA. American Farmer. Developed cracks almost immediately. When blown up so they didn't flex, they were too hard. When inflated so they would flex a little, they cracked. Couldn't get a good ride out of them.

We've got a few sets of them and have had good luck with them. I'll second the comment on American Farmer tires. They all have had a lot to be desired here.

Harvest Kings are probably your better over seas tire. Just like any tire especially today keep them out of the sun as much as you can. I was going to buy a set a few weeks ago but ended up springing for the USA made Titan tires. Good tires but ouch they are almost double of a Harvest King. If you decide to go with a Chinese tire at least spring for a American made tube. I don't trust them.

Local coop quit selling Titan because of all the trouble with them. Had a 11Lx15 on my no-till drill that at 3 months old started leaking around the letters of the word TITAN on the side wall. Acted like they were stamped too deep. Warranty was cheap and the second one did the same the next spring...collected a little warranty and went with Harvest King.

My 3020 came with Titans on the front new 4 years later they are junk . I road a lot and long distances the bkt seem to hold up .

I don’t like cheap tubes either had a new one put in two years ago the calcium chloride ate through it already

Interesting. First time I ever heard anything negative about them. I wonder if they could of went threw several bad batches for a while? Anything is possible I guess. Time will tell. I went with the Titan cause I like the tread design and they were USA made. Harvest King looks good to reminds me of the Firestone Field and Roads.

I have a pair of 11.2-38 Harvest Kings on my John Deere B, bought them in summer 2006. They have held up great. I use the tractor to scrap snow and other tasks and they still look new. Perform well too. I have seen recently another set of Harvest Kings and they also looked nice.

I have a set of 18/4/R/38s on a 4440 They are owned or renamed BKTs at least that is what our Cenex dealer says. He is a Firestone and Titan dealer also. I have a set of BKTs on a 4450 and 8 on a 8770 they are wearing very good . The dealer says he sells more of them because of cost but they hold up good.

Front or rear? Have a set on the rear of one of my main tractors. Been there for about 8 years. Had them on the front of my 2090 Case and they only lasted 2 years before cracking all to __ _ _. Now am running Carlisles on the front. $0 pounds calcium in them also. Carlisle are made in the US OF A.

We have had two Firestone "Natural Rubber" tubes spit out their valve stems in the last year. Supposed to be the best of the best.

The whole valve stem came unbonded from the tube. Nothing torn, nothing corroded, just came unglued and popped out.

Wonder if someone could answer a couple tire questions from this dummy? I have the 2606 with 16.9 - 26 on 15" rim and under that it says 14-26 and under that 6 ply rating.

Just wondering where they are measuring the 15" rim at? Was looking at some tires on auction on 13" rims. Could someone explain the numbers and I assume anything I buy would have to fit a 15" rim. Also not sure what the 14-26 means either. Thanks.

Anytime you see something like 14-26 etc. it would have been the original tire size say 50-60s. New tires all have the ._ or in this case a 16.9X 26 would be the new equivalent
size. I measure the tire rim by the inside of the outside bevels. So a 15 inch rim actually measure 16+ wide. Depending on what you are doing 2 inches under the tire size is the
normal for the rim width to be. I have a set on my 560 that some one set up for pulling so the 18 inch wide tire is the same width as the rim. It makes the tread flat and it rides
OK at slow speed but is terrible if you crank it up going down a highway because the tire flexes differently. I would get rid of them but the tractor mostly just sits now and do not
feel like rounding up another set that is more correct.

Thanks again Roger. Is there a number for the diameter of the rim if 15" is the width?

I had a cheap tube split in two years with calcium in it I’ve got
cheap tubes in tractors that are 15 years old with no issues
that don’t have calcium.
