Oil filter change TE-A20

Hi All, Ferguson TEA20 - Re: changing the oil filter, Is it just a matter of loosening the bolt on the conical end of the oil filter housing to dismantle the outer casing? I put a ring spanner on there and it is very tight. Being new with it, rather than brute force and ignorance I thought it best to check first. Advice appreciated. Grey.

It's my understanding there are a number of different designed Engine Oil Filter assemblies..?
I have this assembly on the shelf, as the relive valve was removed and installed in a remote block that I designed.
Given the VINTAGE of these Tractors....you never know what may be missing and or added to the filter housing!
Two different Oil FILTER assemblies as per FERGUSON service Book

There is a company (Lowe Industries)in Australia that advertises a spin on OIL FILTR UPGRADE for the TEA-20....as well as high compression PISTONS...serpentine belt.. drives Cooling FAN as well as Alternator..
Apparently.. Wash and reuse filter /strainer assembly..

Thanks Bob, Rembrandt pics are excellent. Serial no: on mine is 247359. I have the the oil filter cannister which is the one you haven't seen yet.

From the pics it looks like to undo the one bolt at the conical end to remove the cylinder cannister and the oil filter should come out with it. The Lowe upgrade looks more sensible. Spin on and off.

I dropped engine oil yesterday, it was thick and prob sludged in there, but a couple of close oil change intervals and it should clean up.

Hi All, I got it wrong Bob, it does have a round paper element, thats good I had one and changed it. Put new O ring in housing Now to put some oil in engine.

On the ign side of the engine block theres an oil pot, has a spring loaded lid? Is that a breather or should I be filling with oil? The lid I'm unsure whether it comes off or do I just leave it? Ill look in my literature to see if theres something about it.

I need to buy the Service Instruction Book?

Yes it has a SPRING retention lid..
Lift LID, allow spring to hold lid as if lid is to hang on side of oil port....add oil...pull lid up and allow spring to retrain lid in place..
