Looks like a "Timber Jill" carting wood in the 1940's. Women joined the Land Army
during WW2 to help boost food production and whilst some worked on farms all over the
country others worked in forestry, planting trees, cutting down trees for mine pit
props and other uses. My mother worked in a machine shop making parts for tanks.

My mother in law use to weld bombs together back then. We still have the papers that she pass a welding test to get the job. I started on the farm when I was like 14 and was welding for us an other farmers. Had a lot of good jobs welding stick then later mig an tig an have welded every thing.

Tractor is a Fordson Model "N", More powerful than the model "F". Initially made in Cork, Ireland but moved to the Dagenham factory in 1932. We call the things on the wheel "strakes". They extended lugs to increase grip and were in use in varying designs up to the 1970's.
