Those are Speck fish. The daily limit is only 4 and those look barely legal

Not familiar with speck fish but those are not speckled trout though and speckled trout limit in La.is at least 15

Schpeck in loose translation is fat, grissle, or pre rendered lard. Most commonly used referring to “bachen” or bacon. I’m not and expert in German, but I heard the term plenty as a kid when things went in coded form. Schpeck is referenced frequently in various ways in German cooking. Technically it’s a German word, but Dutch being a Germanic language and Holland being a western neighbor there is likely a shared term. I have two great Grandpas. One German. One Dutch. They grew up about 100 miles from each other in their respected father lands.
