White 4-210 Cummins 8.3 C series

Hey Guys,

New to the forum. Running into a bind on my 4-210. My Cat motor went so bought an 8.3 to put in. Problem trying to find the correct adapter to link the cummins to the over under direct. I bought an adaptor for a 160 white which bolts to the flywheel and has a splined shaft that does adapt to the over under, however the adaptor doesn't have a bore in the center for the over under pilot bearing. This was the part my agco dealer said was correct for the swap. Does anyone know of the part number of the correct adaptor that I need?? Any help would be awesome

Thanks
Tom

Have it bored! Seems workable. If that is the hang-up, Unless there is a specific one to do that job, or if there are other issues with the
one you have purchased. Jim

Thanks for the comments guys. My agco
dealer has never done this particular
repower before. So they are kind of
scratching their heads on parts. I'm kind
of thinking about boring the center out but
the splines are about 2 inches deep on the
adapter and the pilot bearing is around 1
inch. Hesitant on if 1 inch of connection
is enough to handle the pto and hydro pump.
I never thought of calling Kinze. I will
have to look into that for sure. I know
there are guys that have done this repower
out there. I'm told it was common in the
90s when the Cats got tired.

If there is a ball, or roller pilot bearing pressed into the hole you would bore, I see no grief. If it is a splined power connection, no way. Jim

Try these guys.

Not a problem , Ya want a type 2 bell housing to mate the over under , ya need a flywheel and a starter . any truck junk yard probable has a type 2 Mabaughs (sp) will have the flywheel and starter . Engine mounts that one is on you . Several years back my buddy found a 2150 FWD with a pucked Herc. , the cost of doing a total out of frame with the needed machine work was going to make that rebuild cost over 6 K . Found a 8.3 from a gen set with under a 1000hr. and a reverse sump pan for 3250 , this one had the type 2 bell already on it . For us it was a two hour ride out and back to get the pieces and parts needed a trip up to Cummins for a special hose and tack drive . On the 2150 due to the ft. drive shaft we had to do mods to the oil pan and pick up tube . the 8.3 was set at 220 Hp at 1980 RPM . To get pto speed i set it to 2450. Of all the engine swaps i have done this was the easiest . If it was not for the drive shaft we would have had that puppy out the door in a day.
