Christmas morning chores

Hog feeder was empty this morning so had to grind feed before festivities. Grinding feed is one of my favorite jobs. Is a bit chilly this morning at -5 degrees, but the dc fired right up and went to work. Had a snow storm Wednesday with high winds and -10 deg, the wind blew out a window in the barn and froze the water. That finally thawed out this morning, so at least I sometimes have to run water into buckets anymore. Anyway, Merry Christmas to everyone and hope you have a good day.

Wow -5F is chilly alright. It’s surprising how much heat a few pigs can give off, and of course you have cattle too. But I always thought the pigs contributed more heat to the stable.

New side boards on the wagon. Front coroners cut back for the ear corn picker. Do you still pick on the ear?

You sure bring back memories , grinding for the pigs and keeping water running was a chore by it's self ..

I remember feeding cows hay off a sled one snowy Christmas. I felt put upon at the time, having to work on Christmas. Wasn't yet familiar with the fact that there are no holidays for animals, they must always be taken care of.
