Had to go to jd to get points today as no auto parts store could get them, but once installed the onan fired right up and runs good. Will work on getting it in the skid loader now. Thanks for the help.
 
There are some points coming from China. But they are iffy. The local auto may/may not have them. I think someone could do well making. Old parts for old units.
 
I just gave away a whole box of NOS points and condensers. Someone gave them to me about 35 years ago when an auto parts store closed. Wish I'd had time to sell them.
 
I ran into the same situation for a number 70 JD skid loader with a Onan engine. They are some pricey things.
 
I have had a lot of experience in points - slash contacts -- the cleaner they are the better the spark -- the cleaner they are the longer they last too ! a connection has to be real good from the get go and it will last longer -- an other effect on the points is a good condenser -- bad condenser means bad points in the near future -- OK thats enuf ---- Roy PS when putting in new or a nice set of used always pull a clean piece of white paper thru them at least 3 times -- Wallla --Clean
