Stopped To Watch

I was thinking of Robert Frost when I was out on the 2140 this morning in the falling snow. Quiet for Sask. and mild enough that the snow was melting on the hood, and on my parka. Sure has been some extremes in temp the past few days.
So I stopped the little iron horse for a bit to watch my woods fill up with snow.

(quoted from post at 16:03:25 12/20/20) Who s woods these are, I think I know
His house is in the village though

I always like this poem, but can t remember the
lines.
Its been 50 years since high school literature but for some reason some of the old poetry lines stick in my head. Most of the useful information seems to be in an inaccessible file unfortunately.

Early winter I too look for the snow to start filling the woods. I would probably still wait for snow but it would not be the same with out that poem stashed away, waiting most of a year to bring a smile as we take a little rest with fall chores mostly done. Thanks Rusty 6 for the reminder. JD

what is name of that poem? I didn't like poetry in high school then about 2002 I meant Mrs 730 then I started understand poetry.
I hope I can find poem we wrote a few years ago it was horrible Sunday.
Wen I got in house I told her no church today cattle water is froze tighter than Jack Benny.

Thanks for reminding me of that poem and of Robert Frost! I was honored to shake his hand in greeting him at the Waterloo, IA airport, we were in a group of college kids, a welcoming committee.....He is my favorite poet......"good fences make good neighbors.." Leo

High school literature class was where I first discovered his work and its stuck in my mnd all these years. And he was right about the good fences thing.
