Grandma's cookies--

Not quite but close. Grandma died in 1996--RIP--but us left her recipe for sugar cookies! I always liked all her cookies but the ones she made for Christmas were the best. She made them browner than most--not burnt but brown and she put a spice called Anise in them. My Wife made me a batch yesterday and it is hard for me to leave them alone--tractor shaped and of course GREEN so it is legal to put this on this site--YUM---Tee

Doesn't matter if my box of them cookies arrives late for X-mas. They'll be delicious when they get here. Thanks Tee!

They look great! I wonder if you Grandma might have brushed some heavy cream onto the surface of the cookies before they were baked. I know my mama liked to brush some cream on top of pie crust, to make a nice golden brown appearance on the crust. I didn’t change the flavour any, but it would help her win first prize at the fair.

The recipe called for LARD--Don't know if that would matter. Plus a Grandma's love---Tee

Don't know about that--Even a Grandma couldn't love this Deere!---Tee

There should be a law to prevent this!!!

If you had some of the cookies 2 years ago at the Waterloo pull at the courtesy booth they were The wife's. I think she made 20 dozen!--Merry Christmas to you and your family---Ray's Dad

The Wife sent me to the mail box with your dozen but I walk slow and by the time I got there they were all gone--SORRY---Tee

That'll happen! It's the thought that counts right? Hey you know anyone needing a floor board off a 5020? I am cleaning up in the shop.

I used to Bake all kinds of cookies and breads, but my A1c hit 7 and had to cut it out because you can't bake without trying some LOL

Speaking of grandma's cookies, I lost my Grandma in 1992-3 and missed her cookies. married my wife in 1998 and damn if my mother in law makes her cookies the same way and tastes like Grandma is still baking. Best decision I ever made. I have the WORLD's best Mother In Law!!!!!!!!!!!!! And she likes and drives tractors too.

Nice! The anise flavoring sounds interesting in a sugar cookie. I love the square red anise candy (if it us still sold in stores).

Don't throw it away--If they had a cab on them the water would sit under the rubber mat and the rust would pit it bad--maybe you will find someone restoring one---
