Coupling nut

SV I don't use Fastenal a lot but so far they have always been able to come up with everything like that I have needed that I couldn't find elsewhere.

try a plumbing or electrical supply house. We use those at work to join all thread when hanging pipe and conduit.

Just weld 2 nuts together with them on one set of threads. Let them run together but not more than touching. Then they will not warp on the threads. Done it many times that way. Do tack it first.

Depending on what you are using them for, you may want to get coupling nuts from McMaster, Grainger's, or other supplier where you can specify grade 5 or 8 coupling nuts. Most hardware store coupling nuts are only grade 2 (or less), and can fail in critical applications.

Seems I remember my '47 JD A had 4 of those in 5/8" on each rear axle housing. Always assumed they were for cultivator brackets or some such attachment.
