We bought this Ford 851 a few weeks ago. Mick said he wanted it. Said he will use it to ted hay next year. He picked the paint color..........

Paid $650 for tractor and 4 pieces of equipment. Sold equipment for $750. Got a radiator and starter from Tracy Brown. New gauges and wires, tune up, oil change. Runs good. Little bit of popping, not really a back fire..... Maybe just needs working? Got about $250 in the tractor......tires worth more than that!

Kevin, Yall did a great job.
You tell Mick that I love the colors.
And, at least the top of the battery is green.
Richard

Wouldn’t be my choice but doesn’t look bad at all.

Nice to see the kids involved, that’s the important part!

They don't all have to look the same when repainted. Those are pretty good tractors. As long as they keep making parts for carbs and distributors they'll run a long time. Most of them aren't used for plowing or any hard tillage work anymore so an engine in good mechanical condition will last many years with normal maintenance.

I kind of like the color scheme. Did you just paint the sheet metal? The front axle appears to be slightly different color. I still think the row crops look better than the utility models

Sounds like a great deal.Paint like you want, people running a tractor pull in my area told me not to bring my Cockshutt 50 back I was pulling,12 spray cans of Dollar Store paint, different tires and wheels, mounted fenders back in business at the same pull the next month.(LOL)

Sounds like you found another great deal. I guess he is off the Molines and into Fords now? Hope you have good luck with the tractor , looks like good tires on it.

Tell Mick that you have to dare to be different. I like it. You have to make it your own. Just curious and it is not a game changer but does Mick plan to paint the seat or leave it its natural rust color? Wingnut

He is supposed to paint seat red..... Lost interest in paint once it fired up and ran..... Been driving it all over.

Yep. No 3 point hitch on the Moline. Really wanted something he could claim as his and use in hay field.

I like it -- tell Him His tractor will get all the Girls -- any body can paint a tractor to it original color but it takes an imagination to do what You Guys did -- keep it up --- Roy

what kind of metal prop do you do on that rusty tin? Sandblast, epoxy primer, etching primer? Much glass filler?

Pressure washer. Purple power and Dawn dish soap.Wire wheel on grinder. Primer, 2-3 coats brushed on rust Oleum paint.
