Tractor power in its infancy. They came out with an update to add the concrete wheel weights so they would quit tipping over. Conversely they were ahead of the game in 1918 with electric starter, lights, and electric speed control.

I saw the segment about the metal polish on Ewetube. I thought it might be a great idea to use on a couple of my machines. Then I thought the Flitz would just attract dust, so I figured against it.

ur Massey dealer here had one for many years. The dealership is now closed but the family may still have the tractor.

SV, A local dairy farmer has a Moline Universal his dad bought new in 1929. If 1850t still posts on here it is his Grandfather.

I must be thinking wrong, my old boss took what I was thinking was a moline universal,, it had just a two-banger horizontal engine, it was hand crank,, think it had two gears fwd and rev is all,, had a plow, and two wheel trolley for pulling other tools, as seen in the pics,,

Easy to see why farmers back in those days were a little skeptical about a tractor replacing a couple good teams of horses.Local Old Order Mennonites still don't see the need and they seem to be pretty successful farmers.

My good friend has a universal with a four cylinder engine. Cant tell you the year or the brand of engine. They could have had electric start and a headlight but he hand cranks his. I havent looked at it close enough to know if it has an inoperable starter or if it never has one.

That sure looks like a Universal to me. There was a 2 cylinder version made before the 4 cylinder version.

I know that tractor doesn't have a starter. Don't remember if there was a delete plate or access not knocked out but I don't think you can see
the flywheel either which makes me think it never had one.

I am just speaking of the tractor fixerupper is. not universals in general. Owner is a mutual friend to both of us.
