Golf balls make great shift/hydralic,etc. knobs. Simply drill it to the correct size and push on. If needed,a bit of liquid nail locks it on.I frequently find golf balls in the fields I do custom work on.Have a box full of them.I have several tractors with golf ball knobs. They work great!Last practicly forever.I dont golf.

We grow golf balls, although the harvest has dropped of since four of the grandsons have moved off on their own. :)

Delta Steve,

I, too, use golf balls for shifter knobs. I had TH350 transmission ratchet shifter ( mega something) that had a crappy plastic tee handle that broke soon after install.

I installed the golf ball, but had to drill a horizontal roll pin to keep it inplace, lock-tite did not work for me.

That is a neat, cheap, durablefix.

In the mid 70's we poured custom plastic shift knobs in high school. We used glass Christmas ornaments for the mold. It was fun to experiment with the different colors.

But when you go to golf with them, they have a hole in them and you'll get a nasty slice or hook, which for some might not make much difference.

I guess I overlook them I have lived beside a Golf Course most of my life... Golf balls can be found everywhere places you would never dream you would find one. I spec some of them were mine : ).... If you dig here you will run across a golf ball are a brick and a good bet both...

My Aunts pond is full of them the fish use them to make the nicest bowl shape bed you have ever seen... Years ago I do know some would squirt at ya if you cut them open that was 50 years ago.
