Need to stop looking at free things

I check Craigs list free section every day. Today I see a JD riding mower, and a troy built roto tiller for free. They would be interesting projects, but I have more projects than I need at the time. I would drag home, and they would just set to be fixed someday. Stan

I've come to the conclusion that I've got way more stuff than I can ever fix up, plus I don't farm anymore so I don't need any of it, so am going to start thinning the herd. Cockshutt 35 tractor (good runner, 95% complete, stripped down for restoration), couple of bulldozers (Mitsubishi w/6 way blade and an Oliver OC-4), MM 4 star super, JD 710 (Canadian, similar in size to a 2020), Oliver 550 diesel, Oliver 720 baler, Taarup 4 disc mower, etc.

My wife checks it all the time, best deal was a set of 12.4 X 28 tractor tires on rims in good condition, fellow was moving and didn't need them and he gave me
a generator while I was there too.

I considered myself a "scrounger" always looking for free or cheap stuff I might be able to use or use parts off of. I got an old IH front mount cutivater one time "for the metal". Seams though whenever I need some metal for a project I don't have quite the right piece but I have used some of it. I kinda quit taking free, but then again depends upon what it is. I am getting old enough I figure my kids will have to deal with all the treasures I was given.

Someone is advertising a hunting blind for free. Claims that he found it and that no one has come forward to claimed it. Sounds like its only his because it is in his possession.

Another is someone who bought a property and he wants two scrap iron piles hauled away. I would like to do it, but only 6 weeks after surgery, I think it would be to much for me to do by myself. I did like some of what I saw though.

We have listed some free stuff. It’s like getting someone to haul your trash out for free. I have never got anything free from CL

My Grandpa passed away before he got to all of his projects. My dad passed away before he got everything hauled away. The only reason I got it done was because mom sold the farm.
