Ih 674 compression

Hello all. I recently bought a 674 gas with a loader on it. It was locked up from sitting. I pulled the starter and worked the flywheel back and forth until it was free(after letting it sit with kroil in the plug holes for a week). Managed to get it running, but very rough. It sounded like it was only running on 1 or 2 cylinders. After going through the plugs, wires, ect it still ran bad. After doing a compression test I only have compression on #1. The other 3 don't even make my gauge jump. It obviously has issues, but has anyone had this happen before? Stuck valves, head gasket, ect? Just hoping there's not a hole in the block or head. The previous owner parked it because he got it stuck in between gears and the throttle linkage needed work.

Take the valve cover off and turn it over and see if the valves are working. If they are, you might as well pull the head off and see just what you have going on.

The valves in the other cylinders are stuck open. (likely) if any are stuck shut, the pushrods will likely be bent on those. Before pulling the head use your favorite penetrating spray into the area under the retainer onto the valve guide/stem. let it sit for a day or two, then use a plastic faced hammer to tap gently on the top of the retainer. the intent is to get them to move downward just a tiny bit. if they move a tiny bit, use some more spray, and pry upwards on the spring gently from 2 sides and do more tapping. This usually gets lightly rusted valves free. I have rescued many this way. do not get impatient. If you got it started it is not likely to be impossible to fix from the outside. Jim
