Pics With Results-Farm Sale With 17 Old Tractors

Yesterday I and a friend attended a farm sale near Cole Camp,MO...It was a nice day with temps in the mid 50's...There was a huge crowd..It started at 9 AM and lasted
to almost 4:30 PM..They ran 2 rings for a good part of the day..There were 5-6 wagons full of tools and it took over 4 hours to sell them..

4010 JD diesel sold for $2,900...It hadn't run in years..

4020 JD diesel with loader sold for $3,500....It had fuel issues and hadn't run in several years..The fenders were laying behind the tractor..

The running 2510 JD gas with loader sold for $3,600...

The running 420 JD sold for $2,600...

The running 1010 JD sold for $3,050..


The non running 88 Oliver standard sold for $800...

The non running 77 Oliver sold for $600..

The non running 606 International with a clunk in the rear end sold for $825...
The non running 1939 H Farmall on rear steel beside it sold for $300..
Another non running 1939 H Farmall sold for scrap for $175..

The non running C Allis with busted front end and sickle bar mower sold for $175..

The non running 140 International sold for $750..
The non running Cub Farmall beside it sold for $350...It had a busted tranny housing but a spare one was laying beside it..

A busted transmission on the Cub and a busted front end on the AC-C, they must have been hard on those tractors.

The S-10 Chevy had lots of tractor sheet metal-grill-etc in the camper that sold for some good money..

The JD 7000 4 row planter sold for $1,600...

The new Vermeer chipper beside it sold for $4,350...

The New Holland rakes with hitch sold for $1,560...


The two 55 JD combines sold for $225 each...

The OMC grinder mixer sold for $600...

A nearly new 13.6x38 rear tractor tire sold for $210.00.
850 New Holland baler sold for $210.00..
Early IH 2x14 fast hitch plow sold for $110.00
A pair of 77 Oliver side shields sold for $100.00
A cast grill shell for a Oliver 70 Hart Parr sold for over $100 for wall art..
There was much more than this..
The seller kept 4 antique tractors that were in a shed..


I came home with a nice 12.4x24 rear tractor tire and (4) 6.50x16 front tractor tires all for $35.00 total..
My friend bought a like new pickup tool box for $5.00..

Next Saturday is a sale in NW Missouri with over 100 old tractors..Theres a 50-50 chance I will go to it..

A better view of the two 1939 H Farmalls which I have already given the prices..

I was looking for sale to go to when up there week ago. None around Osceola or Appleton City.

Thank you for posting the pictures and auction results. Sounds like you did good on the tractor tires. I have bought a few tractor tires at auctions, at one time around here they would usually be reasonable like what you paid, but when new tire prices went way up more people would be interested in the used tires and much harder to get a good deal anymore.

Thanks for posting as I saw that sale bill but wife said it was to far away and not enough money in the check book. I would have bought the 4020,2510 and 420 at those prices had I been there. Tom

Tom you have to get the wife educated to the fact that it is not what you spend but what you make selling all the stuff that you buy at bargain basement prices.

Been so long since I have been to a farm auction, I have almost forgotten what it’s like. Very few farm auctions anymore, even under normal conditions. Most just sell their stuff at a consignment sale or on one of the internet by and sell sights. No commission on the internet but and see deals, and no swarm of people tramping all over your farm either. I like the good old farm clearing auctions the best.

The wife is educated and she knows what we make when we get the project finished. She also knows how many projects are setting here that I have not got to yet. This winter I am hoping to finish some projects and sell them so I can buy more next year. My kids say I will never get all the ones I have now done.LOL Tom

Auctions! Sounds like there were some good buys.
I used to love going to them, even if I did not buy anything. There was a 3 day consignment auction 6 miles from me in Milan, Mich, Fri., Sat., and today. I did not go. Drove by, but did stop. I did a cruise through earlier in the week, with permission. A number of enticing prospects but I kept telling myself NO!

Thanks for the information. Always interesting to see results from another part of the country. Seems like a good buy on the 6600 combine but unless you know the owner and/ or machine who knows if it needs $500 of work or $5000.
