Fluid changes

There has been a lot of talk about transmission, and I want to state that oil may be bad even if it does not smell bad. My Honda was shifting poorly, oil smelled fine, found out that Honda was having problems with additives breaking down. The PM schedules and specifications were put there for a reason. I think SV was having trouble with third party oil and is now OK on his 4020.

I will add a comment. Some times using a new or different brand of perfectly fine oil/lube will go bad if the additives (or seal softening agents) used to "fix" a leak react to the new oil's chemistry. Purging and full replacement is important. Jim
