Oliver 1800 gas

So I don’t have the exact year, no numbers or anything just yet. But I just bought this tractor with 3700hrs on it nearly new tires on back and working condition. I was just a little boy when dad had his last Oliver and now I got my own on my own fsrm. Just always wanted one. Can anyone give me a
Schooling on this tractor I’m about to show ya? Anything to watch out for? I see it has a white seat, so is this an earlier tractor? Looking for paint codes to restore, would like to eventually find a wide front just to have around, as well as the front weights. Was wondering if there are any bells n whistles I could get, am I missing anything on the tractor? Hope all is good! Thanks fellas

Good looking tractor.I bought a 1800 diesel back a few months ago, came out of an estate the old fellow that passed had bought it new from Swan Equipment in Culpeper VA in 1961.It has a NF also one of the reasons I bought it.

Sorry for asking questions, seems like everything is abbreviated now days and I’m old school. My father was an ag teacher and if he didn’t like my hand writing nam in the wood stove. Redo it. So you’re can imagine 12 years of that lol
I do like the narrow front. But I do enjoy wides too. I wanna go through this machine with a fine tooth comb. So you guys think she’s a 1964? I’ll look into that more. But like I said I just won it tonight so I’ll be getting it Friday I’m guessing

Good looking 1800, you'll like it! I can't see the hydraulic couplers well enough to tell if they are original or not. Oliver's couple under pressure, if they are original, male ends are hard to come by. If you put new ones on and plan to use it, get the lever lock type. It will make you life much easier!!

Good tractors, popular for chore tractors because they start easy. Be prepared to buy lots of gas, especially if you do heavy work. All big gas tractors burn a lot of gas under heavy load. They are not so bad under light loads like loader work.

Just a matter-of-fact response, but it's a ~55 year old tractor. You have to "watch out for" literally EVERYTHING. Anything could wear out or break at any time.

My advice is to maintain the tractor, use the tractor, and roll with the punches as they come.

I couldn’t agree more. Our 4020’s and 4320’s at the other farm are
old 64-69 but man they do some good work for their age. Not to say
we haven’t split them cause we have. But my farm is a much lighter
version of dads, angus beef so round baling square baling taking out
round bales, pulling logs home. She won’t be turning soil. So I think
she will be a nice addition. What about the hours guys? 3700? On
gas? At what hour range does a guy typically turn his nose up. Is this
decent hours?
As for the couplers I’ll take your advice on that for sure. I hate leaking
couplers. John Deere’s notorious for it. So I’m used to that struggle
lol but I’m gonna go through this machine and slowly restore it. And if
something breaks well I guess I’ll fix it! But since you guys got a
better idea what kind of work I’ll be doing, she won’t be worked hard.

Congratulations on your 'new' tractor. Now,order an owners manual and I&T service manual. A parts book would be handy too.Read them! Arm yourself with knowledge. You will be better equiped to handle any issues that come up. They will. Even may prevent issues in the future as well. There is a serial number list at the left side of this page for you to identify the year.

Now that I have depleted my supply of dough, I will take your advice and get those as soon as I can. I appreciate it ! Any good source for quality or original manuals or paperbacks?

Jensales is a supplier of reproduction manuals. However the quality of the printing leaves something to be desired. An I&T service manual can be obtained right here from YT,or about any farm store.Ebay is also a source. Check with you Oliver/AGCO dealer, they may have them for a reasonable price

so its a 1964 C, im looking for good sites for buying parts, i need two fenders, would like the dash with the 6 gauges, mine i believe has 4. man this tractor runs really good, good clutch pops right off and no noise. only thing i need to fix is the PTO lever will not stay engaged.
