I took Nordic and Brett's advice and got new seals. While it was apart I washed everything down with Simple Green. That's the dirtiest saw I ever saw for collecting oil and dust. Got a few new parts from Leon's, minor stuff, and cleaned the mag and carb good. Took about 20 pulls before it popped, then would not idle down. I thought "same as before" but after opening the low needle it really took off. Left it set idling for at least 10 minutes then it gunned right up. A bit more tweaking on the idle and that thing hasn't run this good in years. Thanks to all for the advice. Going after the Lombard next.

Those saws just keep on going,if you need parts I have about 25 of them for parts or probably most could be made to run, keep 5 as runners and they'll out last me.

Glad it turned out good. Those aren't the flashiest saws around, nor the lightest or most powerful. But they are dependable and handy and a well proven design with a long, long history. Not a thing wrong with them IMO. Just a different bred than todays plastic "farm and ranch" level saws.
